Chris Quinlan grew up in a family business that has specialized in hospital hygiene, sanitation, laundry, odor control and floor care since 1958. While earning a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic University, Chris also received extensive training in the areas of chemistry, microbiology, epidemiology, hospital infection control principles and practices, institutional hygiene, environmental sanitation, odor control, floor care, and OSHA compliance. After working in human health care for several years, Chris realized his passion was to bring higher standards of hygiene and sanitation to the animal care industry. In 1989 the Health Technology Professional Products brand of hygiene, sanitation, laundry, bowl wash, odor control products designed for the animal care professional was born.
Today, Chris is the Founder/CEO of Health Technology Professional Products Inc. now the leading brand of facility maintenance products for the pet care industry. Chris also owns and operates the Riverwalk Pet Resort Inc. with his wife Gia. The Riverwalk Pet Resort Inc. is a successful grooming, boarding, daycare, and retail business going into its 16th year. “My education is in institutional hygiene, sanitation and facility maintenance, but I’m also a pet care business owner. My focus is to help other pet care businesses get the cleaning results they are looking for, be within or exceed health department standards, be OSHA compliant, while saving both time and money.” Chris has been a speaker on sanitation, and pet care facility maintenance for the International Boarding & Pet Services Association national meeting, Pet Boarding and Daycare annual conferences, as well as speaking on hospital hygiene and sanitation at several veterinary schools and associations. Over the last 32 years Chris has had many published articles on the topic of pet care sanitation in Veterinary Practice News, DVM Magazine, PB&D Magazine, Pet Age Magazine, and Animal Sheltering Magazine.
